Nigerian artist Davido won best International Act at this year’s BET Awards.
The Nigerian singer who landed major hits lately like ‘ If’ and ‘Fla’ took the time during his speech to urge people to come to Africa and collaborate with African artist.
‘I’m telling you guys, ya’ll come to Africa, eat the food, wear the clothes,” he mentioned from the stage’. My continent has been so blessed to influence other cultures, let’s collaborate everybody”. He also said at the beginning of his speech that the video also paid homage to D’banj, who reportedly just tragically lost his son in a drowning accident over the weekend. “Your’re my brother”.
Davido beat out the likes of Tiwa Savage, Casper Nyovest, among others in the category.
The 2018 BET Awards held on Sunday at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, with DJ Khaled and Kendrick Lamar going into the ceremony with the most nominations, six and five, respectively.
